Professional Experience

Private Practice – Northern Vermont Oral Surgery; Burlington, St.Albans and Berlin, Vermont; February 1997-June 2000. Full scope Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon with appointments to three hospitals and appointment as clinical instructor at the University Of Vermont College Of Medicine.

Emergency Room Physician – Charleston Memorial Hospital; Charleston, South Carolina; September 1994 – June 1996. Diagnosis and treatment of patients in an acute care setting (approximately 20 hours per month)

OMFS Residency – Medical University; Charleston, South Carolina; July 1992 – June 1996. Provided full scope oral surgical care to in- and out-patients at several affiliated hospitals. Focus of care on dentoalveolar surgery, orthognathic surgery, maxillofacial reconstruction and TMD. Education consisting of weekly oral pathology and lecture series. Also, monthly orthognathic and journal clubs were held. Hospital rotations consisted of Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Cardiology, Critical Care Medicine, General Surgery, Neurosurgery, Plastic Surgery, Facial Plastic Surgery, Otorhinolaryngology, and Anesthesia.

General Practice Residency – Carolinas Medical Center; Charlotte, NC; July 1991 – June 1992. Provided dental care to out-patients as well as in-patients. Services rendered consisted of clinical care in operative, periodontia, prosthodontia, pedodontia, endodontia, and oral surgery. Weekly services provided for physically and mentally handicapped patients. Hospital rotations in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, General Surgery/Trauma Surgery, Behavioral Medicine and Anesthesia. On-call duties for emergency dental care and operating room experience.
